What is a composite door?
A composite door is a high-performance external door manufactured from a combination of advanced materials, including PVCu, insulating foam, timber elements, and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). The outer frame is built from PVCu with galvanised steel reinforcement, ensuring exceptional strength and stability. The door slab is foam-filled to improve insulation and reduce heat loss, while the GRP outer skin prevents warping, cracking, or twisting.
Composite doors provide superior security, energy efficiency, and a premium finish, making them one of the best options for homes in Sussex and Surrey.
How do I get a new door?
You can design your ideal door using our online composite door designer, selecting your preferred style, colour, glazing, and hardware. Click Request a Quote, and we’ll provide a tailored price for supply and installation.
Once you’re happy to proceed, we’ll arrange a professional site visit to accurately measure your opening. Alternatively, you can book an in-home consultation, where one of our surveyors will bring brochures, colour samples, and expert advice to help you choose confidently.
Are composite doors better than upvc?
Yes. Composite doors are manufactured as a solid slab, giving them a far stronger structure than uPVC doors. This construction delivers enhanced security, better insulation, and a premium look and feel.
uPVC doors are lighter and more flexible, making them less secure and more prone to wear. With tightening UK building and energy regulations, uPVC doors are expected to be phased out in the coming years, making composite doors a future-proof choice.
Are composite doors well insulated?
Absolutely. Composite doors retain up to eight times more heat than traditional timber doors and feature advanced draught-proofing to reduce heat loss.
Selecting a thermal upgrade will further improve energy efficiency, helping to keep your home warm while lowering energy bills.
What sizes of door do you offer?
All of our doors are made to measure, ensuring a perfect fit for any opening. Our pricing covers a range of widths, from minimum to maximum, tailored to your requirements.
Do the doors come with a frame?
Yes. Every door is supplied pre-hung in a fully reinforced frame, ready for professional installation. This ensures correct alignment, improved security, and long-term durability.
What is a split spindle handle?
A split spindle handle system prevents the external handle from operating the latch when the door is closed. A key is always required to open the door from the outside, while the inside handle operates normally. This provides extra security without compromising convenience.
What is the lead time?
From deposit to installation, our typical lead time is 3–4 weeks, providing a fast, efficient service without compromising quality.
How do I order?
We require a 50% deposit to place your order. Once received, your composite door is manufactured to your specifications and your installation date is scheduled.
How do I pay for an order?
We accept BACS (bank transfer) as well as debit and credit cards.
How long do the composite doors last?
Composite doors are built to last.
According to the Building Research Establishment and housing associations, our doors have an expected lifespan of 35 years, provided moving components are lightly oiled annually. All doors come with a 5-year warranty for added peace of mind.
Are composite doors thermally efficient?
Yes. All of our composite doors achieve a tested U-value and an energy rating ranging from A to D.
Choosing a thermal upgrade when ordering your door will ensure an energy rating of C or above.
As thermal performance varies depending on door style and selected options, please contact us for specific U-values and energy ratings. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the chosen product meets the requirements for its intended use.
How much does a composite door cost?
The cost of a composite door depends on several factors, including door style, colour, glazing options, hardware, and security upgrades.
The quickest and easiest way to get an accurate price is to use our online composite door designer. Once your design is submitted, you’ll receive a detailed quote within 24 hours (please check your junk folder if it doesn’t arrive).
